History of Jacksonville Quarterback Club
The Jacksonville Quarterback Club was conceived in 1949 by two leading citizens in the community who shared a great interest in college football. The object of the club was to promote the enjoyment of football in Duval County in an environment of camaraderie and fellowship. The original membership was extended to 125 residents of the city who were both prominent citizens as well as football fans.
Nine Monday night dinner meetings featuring prominent speakers from the football world were planned during the football season followed by an annual season ending Bowl Party.
The original limit of 125 members has been raised several times over the years, and today’s membership includes both men and women from the local business community in Duval and surrounding counties who have not only a love for football, but are active in various community and charitable endeavors as well.
